Sheepshanks Urges Patience - Ipswich Town News

Chairman David Sheepshanks says fans need to be patient as the Blues look to strengthen their squad during the transfer window. Sheepshanks confirmed that talks are ongoing with Plymouth regarding midfielder David Norris and has reiterated that Town have received no offers.

The chairman told the club site: "We now have bids for two other players on the table plus the David Norris offer which was rejected.

"We are still in discussion with Plymouth over David Norris and are keen on the player and we will see how that goes, but we have other targets if it doesn't work out.

"We made a bid for a second player last week and yesterday we made a bid for a third player.

"Of course, we want to bring in new players to the squad but these things take time and we have to be patient. Marcus Evans supports our plans and it's important that we get the right players at the right price."

Sheepshanks says the club are not looking to sell any of their first teamers during January: "Despite wild speculation, we have had no bids for any of our players.

"We are building a promotion challenge here and are not interested in selling any of our best players.

"I would never say that we would never sell because there will always be a price which will be seen as an attractive offer that is too good to turn down, but we are very pleased with our core first team squad here and want to build on it.

"One or two of our fringe players may move on, but we are building a squad to win promotion and we are not looking to sell our best players."
