Boss Jim Magilton praised goalscorer Danny Haynes after Town's 1-1 draw with Stoke City at Portman Road. The Town manager felt a draw was probably a fair result.
Magilton said: "Joe Royle got it right when he described him as a bottle of pop. Sometimes he's full of fizz and sometimes he's a bit flat.
"He's added some consistency to his game though, and his work ethic and attitude have been first class, not only in matches but every day in training.
"If he keeps applying himself in the same way, he can be anything he wants to be.
"We started excellently and passed the ball very well. We scored a terrific goal from our most dangerous player and at that point everything looked rosy. But it was as though we waited for something else to happen.
"Stoke aren't fourth in the table for no reason and they gave us a few nervy moments. They showed great determination to get a result and overall a point each was fair."
Magilton was also delighted that Jon Walters has signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until 2011: "It's great news for Jon and great news for the club.
"He has been terrific for us this season and has shown a great work ethic and determination.
"He has a real hunger to improve and his new contract is reward for what he has achieved with us since he joined us."
Stoke manager Tony Pulis thought his side ought to have been given a late penalty when Town keeper Neil Alexander clashed with Jon Parkin, although there were no complaints from his players at the time: "It was an embarrassing decision and the referee couldn't have been in a better position. I've just seen it again and the goalkeeper totally took out Jon's legs.
"We came here and gave it a real go. Ipswich will know they were in a game and, with a little bit of luck, we could have taken three points because we didn't sit back.
"Ipswich are a very good team, especially at home, and their front players can all score goals. They gave us some scary moments, but we had the best chance of the second half when their goalkeeper saved from Ricardo Fuller."
Pulis singled out the former Town loanee for praise: "He's a special player and has been fantastic for us. He's exciting and can do things other players at this club aren't capable of."
