TNS Youngster Interesting Town - Ipswich Town News
John McKenna, currently in the youth set-up at Welsh Premier League side The New Saints, says Town are monitoring his progress. McKenna, 17, has already spent time with the Blues academy.
TWTD first reported McKenna playing for the Town U18s in a friendly during a trial spell in the summer of 2006 and the central midfielder or centre-half is understood to have returned during that time. He says he enjoyed his time at Playford Road: "It was really valuable. I'm still working hard to get myself a pro contract with a professional club."
McKenna has also been on trial at Preston North End. The Liverpool-born player is yet to make a senior appearance with TNS.
