Reserves in Action - Ipswich Town News

A reserves side largely made up of U18 team players is taking on Galway United in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Playford Road this afternoon. As reported on Monday, the Eircom League team are spending a week of their pre-season preparations training with Town.

Galway boss Tony Cousins has been a friend of Jim Magilton's since their time as youngsters at Liverpool together.

Cousins told the club site: "It's great of Jim and Ipswich to allow us to work at the training ground and use the fantastic facilities that they have here.

"Our season starts in a couple of weeks and staying here for the week and taking on an Ipswich side is great preparation for us."

Town are expected to field the likes of Jordan Rhodes, Liam Trotter, Jai Reason and Chris Casement against the Tribesmen.
