Murphy in Irish Action - Ipswich Town News

Academy striker Paul Murphy will be international action with the Republic of Ireland U17s this evening when they take on Finland in their second friendly in Kilkenny. Murphy scored the opening goal in Tuesday's 3-0 victory over the Finns in the first game.

The matches are part of the Irish preparations for the upcoming UEFA Championship elite qualifiers which will be played in March.

Meanwhile, there could be more Town youngsters playing football in Ireland in the future with Jim Magilton considering sending players for spells with Eircom League side Galway United, who are currently training at Playford Road.

Galway, who were defeated 2-1 by Town's reserves in a friendly yesterday, are managed by Tony Cousins, a friend of Magilton's since their days as trainees at Liverpool together.
