Miller Backs Magilton Call - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Tommy Miller has backed boss Jim Magilton's call for the multi-ball system to be scrapped. Magilton will face a touchline ban after rowing with referee Mick Jones about the way Stoke were using it at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

Miller said: "I'd like to see it banned. We saw again how it works for the home side and not the away team. It is bit of farce really

"There were times when balls came on the pitch quickly for the Stoke players but seemed an age for ours. It has to be standard. It should be for everyone or no one.”

Stoke boss Tony Pulis has said that his club will look at their implementation of the system: "We don't use apprentices, we use kids from our community programme and sometimes they do sit on the ball.”

Meanwhile, former Blue Shefki Kuqi has been fined two weeks' wages and transfer-listed by Crystal Palace after making a gesture to their fans after being subbed during their game with Wolves at the weekend.

Manager Neil Warnock says the Finnish international has said sorry, but that it came too late to save his Eagles career: "He has apologised to me and the fans - after the horse has bolted.

"I will be transfer-listing him immediately. I don't accept things like that, so that is the end of the matter.

"I have told him that I realise he was disappointed, it is not nice at times, but you cannot go off like that."
