Southend 2-3 Reserves - Ipswich Town News
Town's reserves continued their 100% league record with a 3-2 victory over Southend at Roots Hall. Striker Jordan Rhodes was on the scoresheet twice and midfielder Owen Garvan once.
Rhodes opened the scoring in the first minute, although there was a slight hint of own goal. Matt Harrold equalised before the break, but Owen Garvan put the Blues back in front 10 minutes into the second half.
Charlie MacDonald scored Southend's second equaliser on 76, before Rhodes netted the winner with six minutes remaining.
Veteran defender Fabian Wilnis was amongst Town's best performers, while Liam Trotter impressed, particularly in the second half. Owen Garvan was quietly effective before being replaced on the hour mark.
