Trotter: New Deal is Boost - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Liam Trotter says his new Town contract has given him a massive boost. Earlier in the week the 19-year-old agreed to sign the new deal which will keep him at Portman Road until 2009.
Trotter told the club site: "The new contract has given me a boost. It shows I am in the manager's thinking.
"The manager wants me to keep working hard and says my chance will come. He doesn't want me to go out on loan because I'm still in and around the squad, although if the right opportunity came along at the right time for me and the club, then it's a possibility in the future.
"I'm not worried about that though, all I'm concerned about is getting my head down and working hard to try and get my place back in the team."
Trotter's last first team appearance was the FA Cup tie with Portsmouth in which he was harshly sent off. The FA Youth Cup winner has made three starts and six sub appearances for the Blues, scoring one goal, but has already attracted the attentions of Premier League scouts from West Ham and Wigan.
