Nugent Move Next Week - Ipswich Town News
Portsmouth striker David Nugent is now expected to join the Blues on loan next week. The former Preston man is continuing his recovery from a groin injury and won't make his move until he is confident he is fit.
Boss Jim Magilton said: "We understand from Portsmouth that the player does not want to come until he is 100 per cent fit and can give his best in matches.
"He has not played for a while and we are happy that the Pompey fitness people are monitoring the situation, and when the green light is given I am hopeful that he will come here.
"This is all fair enough, but I don't expect David to be involved against Southampton.”
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp revealed earlier in the week that he had given Nugent permission to join the Blues on loan for the remainder of the season.
