Academy striker Paul Murphy played the full 90 minutes as the Republic of Ireland U17s drew 1-1 with Germany in a European U17 Championship elite group qualifier in Galway on Thursday evening.
Murphy came close to a goal in the first half with a shot which flew narrowly wide.
The young Irish side face Greece in their second game in Lissywoollen on Friday with their final match on 18th March when Portugal are in Galway. The winner of the group goes through to the finals in Turkey in May.
