Bent and Sinclair Latest Links - Ipswich Town News

Former Blue Darren Bent and Chelsea youngster Scott Sinclair are the latest players linked with loan moves to Town. Rumours regarding a possible Bent return have been circulating for some weeks, while Sinclair is expected to be recalled from his spell at Charlton this week.

Bent has failed to win a regular first team role at White Hart Lane this season and, according to rumour, was targeted by the Blues several weeks ago as they sought to add to their striking options. The player himself was believed to be interested, but his agent was less keen on his client dropping out of the Premier League.

According to reports this morning, Town are still interested in the former Charlton man, but a return for yet another former player seems unlikely.

Chelsea have been unhappy that Sinclair has not been involved in Charlton's first team on a regular basis since his move to the Valley and are expected to recall him this week. Various Championship clubs have been linked with moves for the 18-year-old with Crystal Palace denying their interest late last week.

Fulham defender Dejan Stefanovic continues to be linked as boss Jim Magilton continues to look for a loan defender to strengthen his squad for the season's run-in.

The injuries to Shefki Kuqi (hamstring) and David Norris (heel) will be assessed today and may have some bearing on Magilton's continuing search for loan players with both injuries looking potentially season-ending problems.

The Blues were without Jon Walters, who is expected to undergo knee surgery this week, and Richard Naylor, who has a damaged disc in his neck, for Saturday's 2-0 victory over Charlton, a game watched by owner Marcus Evans.
