Bent Bid Fails - Ipswich Town News
Boss Jim Magilton has confirmed that the Blues made a loan bid for Darren Bent but has now conceded failure.
The Town manager told the club site: "Darren was having a tricky spell at Spurs and we made a cheeky enquiry.
"We want to bring in players that will raise the bar and Darren would obviously do that, but he's very much in the fold at Tottenham and it's not going to happen. We just asked the question."
Spurs boss Juande Ramos is understood to have been unwilling to allow the England frontman to leave, despite Bent himself being keen on the move.
Magilton has confirmed that Fulham's Dejan Stefanovic is another one of his targets, a player he was with at Sheffield Wednesday prior to joining Town.
