Garvan in Full Irish Squad - Ipswich Town News

Town midfielder Owen Garvan has been named in a preliminary Republic of Ireland full international squad of 40 players for a training camp in the Algarve and friendlies with Serbia and Colombia in May.

New Irish coach Giovanni Trapattoni's assistants Liam Brady and Marco Tardelli announced the Italian's first squad in Dublin this afternoon. The party will be reduced to 28 early in May. Ireland play Serbia at Croke Park, Dublin on May 24th and Colombia at Craven Cottage on May 29th .

Garvan is yet to make a full international appearance, but has won four U21 caps as well as having played at various youth levels.

Alan Lee, Alex Bruce, Alan Quinn and Nick Colgan have previously won full Irish caps but none are included in Trapattoni's first squad.
