Town Aiming for Blue Sunday - Ipswich Town News
Town plan to make Sunday a Blue-tiful Day by handing out 30,000 blue cards to fans on the turnstiles ahead of the derby with Norwich City. The club hope fans will hold the cards aloft when the players emerge from the tunnel ahead of kick-off.
Skipper Jason De Vos has backed the initiative: "I think it's a great idea and the players are right behind it.
"It should be a fantastic sight to see the whole ground in blue when we come out on to the pitch.
"I'm sure the atmosphere will be great on Sunday. Derby games are always special occasions for players and supporters and we want the stadium to be rocking.
"Our fans really got behind the team in the second half against Cardiff and I'm sure they will turn the volume up even more against Norwich.
"They can lift the players but we also are aware that we have to perform and lift them.â€Â
Town have only a handful of tickets remaining on sale for Sunday's noon kick-off with no cash turnstiles open on the day.
Portman Road will be closed to home fans and the public for a short time after the game to allow Norwich fans to be escorted back to their coaches.
