Kuqi Wants to Stay - Ipswich Town News
On-loan striker Shefki Kuqi says he wants to make his move back to Portman Road a permanent one. The Finnish international is with the Blues on loan from Crystal Palace until the end of the season, but is keen to remain with Town for 2008/09 and beyond.
Kuqi said: "I love this place. It is the people who make it special. And it is special. When I was with Blackburn Rovers I had a great time in the Premier League, but nothing can compare - as far as I am concerned - with playing for Ipswich.â€Â
Crystal Palace have indicated that they don't want to keep the 31-year-old after he made a gesture to their fans after being subbed in a game against Wolves in February.
If Jim Magilton sees Kuqi as part of his longer term plans, then it seems likely a deal can be agreed fairly easily.
With the frontman's Selhurst Park contract up in the summer of 2009, Palace would probably only receive a relatively small fee for his services.
