Klug: Fab Playing His Part - Ipswich Town News

First team coach Bryan Klug says veteran defender Fabian Wilnis is playing his part in Town's play-off campaign despite not being in Jim Magilton's side since January. Wilnis is out of contract in the summer and looks set to end his nine-year association with the Blues.

Klug said: "Fabian can still play a part. In fact, he is playing a part by working hard and training every day.

"He's been an important player at this club for many years and his experience can only rub off on and benefit the younger players."

Wilnis has been amongst the Town coaches for a number of recent reserve games as he looks to forge a career in management. Frenchman Sylvain Legwinski, also set to leave the Blues over the summer, has also been working towards his coaching badges and was amongst those on the touchline as the Blues' U18s took on Chelsea last week.

Town's play-off push received a boost last night with Tony Mowbray's West Brom defeating Wolves 1-0 at Molineux. The Blues still sit in seventh, two points ahead of their weekend opponents, who now have only one game in hand.

The win took the Baggies to the top of the table, while Hull went second after their 3-1 victory at Barnsley.
