Oxford Tried to Re-Sign Rhodes - Ipswich Town News
Oxford United boss Darren Patterson has revealed that he tried to re-sign Jordan Rhodes on loan on deadline day at the end of March. Rhodes previously spent a month with the Blue Square Premier side earlier in the season, netting his first two senior goals in their 2-1 FA Cup victory at Merthyr Tydfil.
Patterson said: "Jordan is first class. He was excellent for us - one of the best youngsters I have ever worked with.
"I have kept in touch with him and we tried to get him on deadline day. He has good people around him and I think he is already worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. But that won't stop me trying."
Meanwhile, Town and Stockport are in talks regarding a pre-season friendly between the clubs, according to sources close to the Cheshire side, with Portman Road apparently the proposed venue.
