Walters Wins Players' Player Award - Ipswich Town News
Jon Walters was perhaps unsurprisingly the big winner at the club's end of season dinner at Trinity Park on Tuesday evening. Walters won both the Players' Player of the Year and the Corporate Boxholders and Sponsors Player of the Year awards.
Pablo Couñago's backheel at Charlton carried off the Goal of the Season gong, while Danny Haynes picked up the John Kerridge Memorial Trophy for the club's most improved player.
Striker Jordan Rhodes won the Harold Smith Trophy for the academy's most improved player.
Meanwhile, there was bad news for the Blues at Molineux where Wolves defeated Cardiff 3-0 to leapfrog Town and go into seventh in the table. Town now sit in eighth, a point behind Wolves and three points behind sixth-placed Crystal Palace.
Results also went against Tommy Smith and Stevenage, who now have no chance of making the Blue Square Premier play-offs. Boro lost 2-1 at home to Northwich, former Blue Sammy Moore scoring Stevenage's goal, while Exeter and Cambridge United sealed their places in the top five with victories.
