Midfielder David Norris has undergone surgery aimed at curing his ongoing heel problem. Norris had been suffering with a plantar fascia strain since his £2 million move from Plymouth Argyle in January with the injury becoming more serious during the home game with Charlton.
Physio Matt Byard told the club site: "David was suffering with a lot of discomfort in his heel fairly soon after arriving at the club in January, but played through the pain.
"But in the Charlton game he sustained a tear which eventually led to surgery on Monday.
"We were hoping to avoid an operation and get him back in action, and he was making progress, but he could only get to around 70 per cent activity before the pain intensified.
"He had a thickened area of scar tissue which became attached to a muscle in the foot and was bound around a nerve. This caused David to experience sharp, stabbing pains and in the end surgery became necessary.
"Mr Lloyd-Williams, a foot specialist in London who carried out surgery on Jason and Bam Bam last year, did the operation and was very happy with the result.
"David will be on crutches for 10-12 days and will then begin his rehab. He will not be able to start running for five or six weeks but we expect him to be fully active again for pre-season."
Meanwhile, striker Pablo Couñago says playing at home will be a big benefit to Town when Hull visit Portman Road on Sunday for the season's final league game: "Playing at home is a massive advantage for us.
"The table shows we are the best home team in the league, but in a game like this the statistics don't matter we have to do the job.
"It will help because we are in our stadium, our home, with our fans. We will be attacking, which is our best style, and we will be trying to win the game playing our football.
"But we know Hull are a good team in good form, so will make it hard but this is a great game to be a part of.â€Â
