Murphy Wins 12th Cap as Irish Lose - Ipswich Town News
Academy striker Paul Murphy won his 12th Republic of Ireland U17 cap as his side lost 1-0 to Switzerland at the UEFA U17 Championships in Turkey. Murphy, who scored in the opening defeat to France, was introduced as a ninth minute sub.
Murphy forced the Swiss keeper into a fine save with a 20-yard shot, but the Irish couldn't grab an equaliser. Ireland now need to beat Spain on Saturday and hope that other results go their way in order for them to qualify for the next stage.
