Simpson to Leave Manchester United? - Ipswich Town News

Loanee right-back Danny Simpson has reportedly been told he can leave Manchester United, according to a tabloid report this morning. Simpson joined the Blues on loan in March and made seven starts and one sub appearance while at Portman Road.

If it is the case that Simpson, contracted to United until 2010, has been told he has no future it would be a major turnaround given that the full-back recently said he had been instructed that be would be going on the club's pre-season tour by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Should the report prove to be true, then Town would almost certainly be amongst the clubs keen to sign the 21-year-old, although there is bound to be significant interest in the Salford-born defender.

Already this summer Sunderland, Birmingham and Wigan have been reported to want to sign Simpson on loan for next season, while a newspaper in the North-East claims Sunderland will try to sign him on a permanent basis.
