De Vos to Eye MLS Targets for Town - Ipswich Town News
Departing skipper Jason De Vos says he will keep an eye out for potential new Town signings while in his new role as a broadcaster in North America. De Vos starts his new job as a commentator with Canada's CBC later this week.
De Vos told the club site: "It was a very tough decision to call time on my career because I think I will miss out on promotion next season.
"But it felt it was the right time for me to go and it's new challenge ahead of me and one I'm really excited about.
"I'm hoping to carry on doing my bit for the club as well. I will keep my eyes and ears open on players in the North American continent and if I feel there is someone good enough to play for Ipswich, I will be on the phone to the gaffer straight away."
De Vos is due back in Canada on Tuesday and will begin his new job on Saturday when Toronto FC take on the Columbus Crew and will be part of CBC's regular MLS commentary team.
At last week's 1978 celebrations, former striker Paul Mariner revealed that he would talk to first team coach Bryan Klug regarding possible Town targets in his New England Revolution squad with USA international centre-half Michael Parkhurst likely to be amongst the players he has recommended.
