Robinson: Town Link Flattering - Ipswich Town News

Millwall central defender Paul Robinson says weekend reports linking him with Town are "flattering”, but says he is happy at the Den. Meanwhile, loanee Danny Simpson says he has been assured that he has a future at Manchester United, contrary to widespread stories which claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson would allow him to leave.

Millwall Player of the Year Robinson says he isn't actively looking for a move although doesn't completely rule out a switch: "It is very flattering to be linked with a Championship club like Ipswich.

”But I am happy at Millwall and as long as that is the case I will continue to give everything I have for this club. It is a superb place to play football and my job now is just to give the supporters the success they crave.”

Simpson says he will be part of the Manchester United squad next season: "Sir Alex has told me I'm very much part of his plans and he wants me in his squad next year. I have also been told I'm going on the summer tour with them.”

Reports over the weekend claimed the Salford-born defender would be allowed to leave with a £1.5 million price tag on his head. Town, Sunderland, Wigan, Birmingham and Aston Villa had all already been linked.
