Geddis Linked With International Role - Ipswich Town News
FA Cup-winning striker David Geddis has been linked with Town's international scouting role. Geddis previously coached at Middlesbrough and Leeds and worked for Sir Bobby Robson at Newcastle United.
Geddis, who laid on Roger Osborne's 1978 FA Cup-winning goal and recently attended the 30th anniversary celebrations, has been without a permanent role since leaving his job as reserve team boss at Leeds in 2006.
Prior to that he was a youth coach with Middlesbrough and Newcastle and scouted for then-England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson at the 2006 World Cup.
Last week, Luuk Balkestein, father of central defender Pim, believed to be on his way to the Blues from Dutch side Heerenveen this summer, was reported to be amongst the other candidates. Balkestein senior is currently chief scout at newly promoted Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Elsewhere, reported Town target Kieran Westwood has been linked with Newcastle United. The Carlisle keeper is one of a number of stoppers mentioned in connection with the Blues this summer.
