Plymouth's Halmosi Linked With Town - Ipswich Town News

Plymouth Argyle winger Péter Halmosi has again been linked with a move to the Blues. The 28-year-old Hungarian was previously mentioned in connection with Town back in December.

Back then, Wigan Athletic, Leicester City and Wolves were also linked with the left-sided midfielder, while more recently QPR and Sheffield United have been reported to have shown interest. There have been no reports of Town chasing the ex-Debreceni player in the press since December, although his name has been mentioned a number of times on the TWTD Message Board of late.

A left midfielder is believed to be amongst Jim Magilton's summer targets and the former Haladás and Grazer AK man is as good as any currently playing in the Championship.

Halmosi joined Plymouth from Debreceni in his home country in January 2007 initially on loan. A permanent £400,000 deal was sealed the following May, the winger signing a contract until 2010. In January, press reports valued him at around the £2 million mark.

Meanwhile, David Geddis is again reported to be a leading candidate for Town's new international scouting role. News that the FA Cup winner was in the running first broke over the weekend. Former European scout Simon Hunt is also believed to be a strong contender.

Elsewhere, ex-Town central defender Chris Swailes, 37, has scrapped plans to retire and move to a coaching job in Gran Canaria to play one more season with newly-promoted SPL side Hamilton Academical.
