Cardiff Would Only Take Stupid Money for Johnson - Ipswich Town News

Cardiff City boss Dave Jones says youngster Aaron Ramsey's £5 million move to Arsenal means he will only sell Town target Roger Johnson or other members of his squad if the Bluebirds receive "stupid" offers.

Jones said: "I do not want to sell anyone else. I want to keep everyone I have got now and build on that squad.

"The only way anyone else will go now is if someone comes in with some kind of stupid offer for someone.”

Last week Cardiff revealed that they had turned down £1 million bids from the Blues and another club for Johnson. The Welsh side have slapped a £3 million price-tag on Johnson's head and are discussing a new contract with the central defender.

Chairman Peter Ridsdale added: "The sale of Aaron means we do not have to sell anybody else.

"If anyone comes in with a bid it would have to be the sort of money which we simply could not turn down.

"We are not expecting any of the players we want to keep to be going anywhere and look to go into next season stronger than we left the last.”

Meanwhile, former Town academy striker Steve Burton has joined Unibond League Premier Division club Guiseley from Crawley Town.
