Hunt Set for Scouting Job - Ipswich Town News
Former Town European scout Simon Hunt is reportedly set to be named the club's new international scout later today. Hunt was previously with the Blues between 2000 and 2003.
George Burley initially recruited Hunt in December 2000 not long after he had left his job as manager of Swedish club Kalmar FF. Hunt spent much of his playing career in Sweden after moving from Wrexham to Elfsborg in the mid-eighties.
More recently, 45-year-old Hunt left a coaching role with West Brom in December after only seven months in the post, having previously held scouting positions at Southampton and Derby, where he again worked with ex-Town boss George Burley.
Meanwhile, central defender Pim Balkestein is set to undergo his medical at Town this week, the Blues and Heerenveen having agreed a compensation package which will see the out-of-contract Dutchman move to Portman Road.
