McAuley Targeting the Premier League - Ipswich Town News
New Town signing Gareth McAuley says he is targeting promotion to the Premier League with the Blues. Town completed the acquisition of the 28-year-old on a three-year deal earlier today.
McAuley told the club site: "I was excited about the move when Ipswich came in for me in January, but Leicester wouldn't let me go.
"The situation obviously changed as the season progressed though, with Leicester going down, and although I had other options, coming to Ipswich was very much my first choice.
"I have played here a few times and there has always been a great atmosphere in the ground. It's a top club and, listening to the manager, it's clear he wants Ipswich in the Premier League.
"That's where I want to be. As a player, it's the pinnacle to be playing in the Premier League and this club has the potential and drive to be at that level.
"That's where I want to be and I came here to help Ipswich Town reach the Premier League."
