Westwood Joins Coventry - Ipswich Town News

Reported Town target Keiren Westwood has joined Coventry City from Carlisle United for a fee of £750,000. Town were one of a number of Championship clubs believed to be chasing the 23-year-old keeper, who has signed a three-year deal at the Ricoh Arena.

The Blues are looking for a new stopper to vie with Shane Supple for the number one jersey. Westwood was amongst a long list of players linked, with former Blue Richard Wright perhaps the favourite to join Jim Magilton's squad over the summer.

Derby's Stephen Bywater has not been offered a contract by Town after spending the final few months of the season at Portman Road.

Other glovesmen linked include Fulham keepers Kasey Keller and Antti Niemi, recently released Aston Villa stopper Thomas Sørensen, Liverpool youngster David Martin and Linfield's Alan Mannus.
