Spanish reports claim released Town defender Sito has joined Unión Deportiva Salamanca back in his home country on a two-year deal with an option for a third.
The full-back was allowed to leave the Blues at the end of the season having made 51 starts and 12 sub appearances, scoring one goal, having joined on a free transfer from Racing Club de Ferrol in 2005 after a trial.
Earlier in the week, Southend boss Steve Tilson confirmed that he was interested in signing the 28-year-old, but now appears to have missed out.
