Haynes Dismisses Premier Move Claims - Ipswich Town News

Striker Danny Haynes has dismissed reports linking him with a move away from Portman Road as merely "rumours”. Haynes has been linked with a number of Premier League sides over the summer, most prominently Portsmouth.

Haynes said: "There are rumours, and there always will be in football. But there is nothing concrete and all my thoughts are centred on lifting Ipswich Town up into the top flight.”

In addition to Pompey, Everton, West Ham, Wigan and relegated Birmingham have also been mentioned in connection with the 20-year-old.

The former England U19 international starts pre-season training with the rest of the squad today. Only Alex Bruce and Owen Garvan are missing having been given further time off after their spell away with the Republic of Ireland squad.
