Williams Move Likely Today - Ipswich Town News

Gavin Williams's £100,000 move to Bristol City now looks likely to be completed at some point later today. The Robins had expected to formally announce the completion of the deal yesterday but are still to confirm the Welshman's switch.

Town announced that Williams was on his way out of Portman Road earlier in the week with sources in the South-West revealing that Ashton Gate was his destination.

Elsewhere, on another quiet day for Town transfer gossip, Colchester striker Kevin Lisbie says he knows nothing of Town's reported interest in him and expects to be a U's player come the start of the season: "I haven't spoken to anyone and I'm not just going to up and leave for any old club.

"We start pre-season training at Colchester on Monday and if anything was going to happen I believe it would have happened by now.

"Clubs like to get their new players in before pre-season and I doubt there will be much movement anywhere now."

Lisbie says that if Colchester do decide to sell him to an interested party, he wouldn't necessarily move on: "If another club comes in for me and the two teams agree a fee, who knows where I could be by the time the season gets under way.

"But it would have to be a southern club because there's no way I would move up north to a Burnley, Huddersfield or Barnsley.”
