Mpenza Claim Only Weekend Link - Ipswich Town News
A claim that Town continue to be involved in a battle to sign released Manchester City striker Emile Mpenza is virtually the only mention of the Blues in this weekend's tabloids. The Belgian international is also said to be interesting Stoke and Cardiff.
The lengthy Mpenza saga had appeared to have come to a close after chief executive Derek Bowden ruled the Blues out of the running, then again last week when the player's very vocal agent Rachid Tajmout told the Belgian press that Town had ended their interest.
A striker, or perhaps two, is very much on Jim Magilton's summer wish-list, but a move for Mpenza no longer seems that likely.
