Pub for Coventry Match - Ipswich Town News

London-based fans who can't get tickets for Saturday's match with Coventry might like to have a wander into Arsenal country and watch the game from the comfort of a pub.

The Wig and Gown (Highbury and Islington Station, down Holloway Road 800 yards on the left) have the facilities to allow fans to watch the game live on Norwegian television. The pub is run by Town fan Paul Sturges and all ITFC fans are welcome.

Paul's dad Rob's Gunners pub will be showing the Charlton game and nibbles will also be provided. Details of the Gunners can be found here: http://www.thegunnerspub.co.uk

class="storytext">Kieron Dyer is in strife again after being clocked at 104 mph on the A1(M) on April 8th. Police have not decided whether the former Town player will be prosecuted.

Town's U19s drew with Wimbledon yesterday. Town's scorers were Darren Bent and Robert Dickinson.

Town have organised a get together of many of the players of the past who recently appeared in an EADT top 100. Present will be the likes of Ray Crawford, George Burley, John Wark, Ted Phillips, Mick Lambert and Jackie Little.

With many involved in games over the weekend and other notables like Paul Mariner living abroad the full 100 will not be turning out. Glenn Pennyfather's availability is not known.

David Sheepshanks is to be the guest speaker the Sport Business conference in London. The annual conference is at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre Sheepshanks will be involved on Friday 20th April in a discussion entitled 'In Danger of Overkill?'.

This focuses on football's sustainability at the levels of popularity it currently enjoys and questions the global master plan for the game (not entirely convinced one exists).

Present at the conference will be many leading figures from many global sports federations, as well as holders and marketers of sporting rights. Many issues affecting sport business over the next few years will be under discussion.

A new date for Russell Tanner's tesimonial has been set. The game for the Braintree stalwart was postponed last month due to a waterlogged pitch but George Burley promised the game would be re-arranged for the summer.

The match will now take place on Wednesday 25th July, (KO 7.45pm) at Braintree's Cressing Road ground.

The extra ballot tickets for the Manchester City game will begin to be distributed to Portman Plus ballot members from the beginning of next week.
