Released Town veteran Fabian Wilnis has been training with Ridgeons League Premier Division side Needham Market in recent weeks.
TWTD understands that the Dutchman could take up a player-coach role at Bloomfields, having left the Blues at the end of last season.
Wilnis is keen to remain in Suffolk despite leaving Town and wants to begin a career in coaching. Last season the 37-year-old said he would look to start in a relatively low profile job and progress from there.
Meanwhile, former midfielder Kevin Horlock is set to face his old side next Wednesday when he lines up for Bury Town in the friendly with the Blues at Ram Meadow. The former Northern Ireland international is in talks regarding a permanent move to Bury.
Elsewhere, ex-striker Adam Proudlock has joined Darlington from Stockport.
