Skácel Deal Breaks Down - Ipswich Town News

Town's attempt to sign Southampton midfielder Rudi Skácel has reportedly broken down after the club and the player failed to agree personal terms. The Czech international is now believed to be on his way to Germany for talks with other clubs.

As reported earlier today, Skácel was at Town on Tuesday talking personal terms with Blues chief executive Derek Bowden, but it appears the two parties could not agree terms.

The 28-year-old is reportedly on £12,000-a-week at Southampton with an even higher wage believed to have been preliminarily negotiated with Hertha Berlin had last season's loan move become a permanent switch.

Hertha subsequently pulled out of that deal, although Skácel was a regular in their side throughout the second half of last season and is likely to have impressed other Bundesliga clubs.
