Honduran International Set for Trial - Ipswich Town News

Honduran international Emilio Izaguirre will join the Blues for a trial over the weekend. Izaguirre, a left-sided full-back, wing-back or midfielder, currently plays with Club Deportivo Motagua in his home country.

The 21-year-old will spend 10 days with Town hoping to impress Jim Magilton and his management team.

In 2005 Izaguirre was part of the Honduran U20 team which took part in the FIFA World Youth Championships in Holland. Izaguirre has been capped 20 times by his full national side, scoring one goal.

Town are very much in the market for a left-back with the out-of-favour Dan Harding the only left-sided full-back currently at the club.

The Blues have moved for Southampton's Rudi Skácel, an occasional left-back but mainly a midfielder, although we understand that the Czech's £1 million move is now very unlikely to go through. Skácel has returned home to Prague to assess his future with a move to Germany now believed to be more likely than him signing for Town.

Former Fulham, Grays and Woking defender Adam Green is currently with the Blues, but will reportedly not be taken on next week's pre-season tour of Belfast, presumably because Izaguirre will be given a chance to prove himself in the left-back role.
