Naylor and McAuley Miss Brentford Trip - Ipswich Town News
Central defenders Richard Naylor and Gareth McAuley have been left in Suffolk with slight knocks as the Blues head to Brentford for tonight's friendly at Griffin Park (KO 7.30pm). Boss Jim Magilton says he will use most of his squad during the game against the League Two side.
The Town manager told the club site: "We will mix and match it and try and give as many players as possible a run out.
"It's about easing players back into match action and, with tonight's game and the tour of Northern Ireland coming up, the players will all get a chance to do that."
Dutch signing Pim Balkestein will make his first appearance for the Blues since joining from Heerenveen, while Jon Walters, strongly linked with Stoke in recent days, is expected to play some part after missing last Friday's match with the English Universities.
Naylor and McAuley will both be fine for next week's three-game trip to Belfast.
