Boss Jim Magilton will be keeping an especial eye on Donegal Celtic defender Ciaran Caldwell when the Blues take on the Irish Premier League side at Suffolk Road this evening (KO 7.45pm). The Town manager is reported to have specifically asked the Northern Irish club to play the youngster in tonight's match.
The 18-year-old, who has made only one senior league appearance, is interesting a number of mainland clubs with West Brom and Blackburn expected to send representatives to tonight's game and SPL giants Celtic previously linked. West Brom have already taken Caldwell on a trial spell.
Caldwell, who attended St Mary's Grammar in West Belfast, the same school as Magilton, is the grandson of Irish boxing legend Johnny Caldwell.
The tall defender won the Carnegie U18 Schools Cup with St Mary's playing as a striker and recently picked up the Donegal Celtic Most Promising Player of the Year award.
