Boss Jim Magilton says the Blues are still keen to persuade Greek international striker Angelos Charisteas to come over to Suffolk to take a look around the club and hold talks. The 28-year-old is in Austria on a pre-season trip at present with his current side Nuremberg.
Magilton said: "We have spoken to his agent and we are still hoping the boy will come over to Ipswich and have a look around and have talks.
"If we can find common ground then good and we are making preparations to try and get him in.â€Â
The Town manager says he has other options if Greece's Euro 2004 hero can't be lured to Portman Road.
Charisteas has said he wants to remain with Nuremberg, but has conceded that he may have to move on and says that if that's the case he will leave Germany. The ex-Werder Bremen man will hold talks with Nuremberg's management while in Austria.
