No Loan for Northampton Target Rhodes - Ipswich Town News
Town manager Jim Magilton says he isn't considering sending striker Jordan Rhodes out on loan quite yet. Reports on Friday linked the 18-year-old with a short-term move to Northampton Town.
Magilton has been impressed with Rhodes during pre-season and sees an early season role for the prolific frontman at Portman Road, although a loan later on is a possibility: "I like the thought of having Jordan here rather than getting him out.
"Perhaps at the end of September, or near the loan deadline, I may consider it then.â€Â
Last season Rhodes spent time with Blue Square Premier side Oxford United, with whom he scored his first two senior goals in an FA Cup victory over Merthyr Tydfil.
