Thatcher Talks Going Well - Ipswich Town News
Boss Jim Magilton says talks are progressing with trialist Ben Thatcher. The 32-year-old left Charlton at the end of the season after a contract offer was withdrawn and joined the Town squad for the pre-season tour of Belfast.
Talks with Thatcher began earlier in the week and Magilton told the club site and have so far gone smoothly: "I have spoken to Ben and the talks went well. It's early days though, and he is weighing up his options before we look at taking it any further."
Thatcher, 5ft 10in tall, started his career with Millwall, before moving on to Wimbledon, Tottenham, Leicester, Manchester City and finally Charlton.
The Swindon-born defender won four U21 caps with England but represented Wales at full level, making seven appearances.
