Roberts Completes Move to Huddersfield - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Gary Roberts has completed his move to Huddersfield Town, signing a two-year deal with the Terriers. On Friday, TWTD was first to report that the former Accrington man was on the verge of joining the League One side.

Boss Jim Magilton told the club site: "Gary is a fantastic young man and we wish him every success at Huddersfield.

"Initially he was very good for us, but he had a stop start season last year and he probably will look back and think he didn't do himself justice here in the end.

"I couldn't guarantee him regular first team football at this club and Huddersfield can. He goes with our best wishes."

Roberts has moved for a fee of £100,000 rising to £250,000 on clauses likely to be related to promotion and appearances.

Meanwhile, a whole host of new targets are claimed to be on Jim Magilton's summer wish-list now that the moves for Angelos Charisteas, Nicky Maynard and Rudi Skácel appear to have collapsed.

Celtic central defender Bobo Balde, who has recently been linked with Birmingham City, fellow Bhoy Lee Naylor, who has been interesting Aston Villa and Sunderland, and Coventry's Kevin Kyle, linked with Plymouth, Burnley, Barnsley and Crystal Palace, are all claimed to be on Jim Magilton's new list of potential targets, along with Forest's Nathan Tyson, Leicester's Steve Howard.

Egyptian international striker Emad Meteb is yet another name linked, the Al Ahly player's move to Bristol City having recently collapsed.

Meanwhile, TWTD understands that Blue Square Premier side Cambridge United are interested in taking Billy Clarke on loan.
