Wickham Wins Third England Cap - Ipswich Town News

Academy striker Connor Wickham won his third England U17 cap as his side drew 0-0 with Norway in their final group game at the Nordic Tournament in Sweden earlier this evening.

The draw meant Norway went through to the competition's final against Sweden, while England will play Denmark in Saturday's third/fourth play-off.

England had won both their previous games against Finland and Iceland 1-0 with Wickham scoring the winner in the match against the Icelanders.

Meanwhile, Town's U17s finished sixth in the BT Northern Ireland Trophy after losing 6-4 on penalties to Shamrock Rovers after a 2-2 draw. The BT Northern Ireland Trophy is contested by some of the sides to be eliminated from the more prestigious Milk Cup during the group stages.

England U17s: 1 Ryan Allsop, 3 Jamie Reckord (12 Luke Garbutt 72) 4 James Hurst (c), 5 Oliver Nicholas, 6 Tom Parkes, 8 Chuks Aneke, 9 Jacob Walcott (11 Jason Banton 75) 10 Luke Freeman (7 Nathaniel Mendez-Laing 68), 16 Connor Wickham, 17 Kieran Edwards (2 Keanu Marsh-Brown 79) 18 Billy Knott.
