Nugent on Loan as Walters Linked With Stoke - Ipswich Town News

A possible loan move for David Nugent and the increasing uncertainty regarding Jon Walters's future are the only Town stories we've spotted in today's tabloids.

Nugent is reportedly on the verge of making a season-long loan to the Blues, contrary to a story yesterday which claimed a permanent move was getting closer.

The Portsmouth striker may be keener on a loan if it means he will be able to return to the Premier League side at the end of the season, having again shown his goalscoring abilities in the Championship.

Walters's apparent desire to leave the club to move to the North-West has now hit the nationals with Stoke still claimed to be interested in the former Chester man and Town said to be wanting £3 million for his services.

The 24-year-old is due back at Portman Road on Monday after two weeks' compassionate leave with his wife as she gave birth to their second child.

At the end of last week, the Blues having denied receiving any interest in Walters or a transfer request from last season's Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, Town legend Mauricio Taricco was spotted at Portman Road yesterday with his former Spurs team-mate Gus Poyet, now the first team coach at White Hart Lane.
