Bruce Set to Leave Town - Ipswich Town News

Town defender Alex Bruce is reported to have told friends that he is ready to leave the Blues via social networking site Facebook. Yesterday reports claimed that the Irish international defender had turned down the offer of a new deal with the Blues.

The centre-half only intended friends to see the Facebook message but the news of his proposed Town exit was picked up more widely.

Bruce was relegated to the reserves during pre-season but has returned to the first team in recent weeks.

The 23-year-old was linked with Burnley and Leeds United last week, although the Clarets quickly ruled themselves out of a bid.

More recent reports claim Watford are also interested and that the Blues have slapped a £1 million price-tag on the former Birmingham man's head.

Bruce is currently away with the Irish squad ahead of tonight's friendly with Norway in Oslo.
