Town Watching Derry City Winger - Ipswich Town News

Northern Irish reports claim the Blues are eyeing Derry City wideman Niall McGinn. The 21-year-old has had a hugely impressive season since joining the Candy Stripes from Dungannon Swifts in January and is believed to be interesting a number of English clubs.

A Town scout was amongst those present as McGinn put in a man of the match performance as his side beat UCD 2-1 on Friday.

McGinn, a Northern Ireland U23 international, is primarily a right winger but can play on either flank or up front.

The Dungannon-born player, also impressive in the GAA sports with Donaghmore and Tyrone U21s, says he would consider a move to England: "At the moment, my main priority is to keep playing the way I'm playing.

"I want to get as fit as I possibly can and keep enjoying my football. However, should a club from England express an interest in me, then I would have to sit down and have a good think about it.

"No one knows what's around the corner but, at this moment in time, my total focus is with Derry City as I'm very happy at the club."
