Scales Contract Terminated - Ipswich Town News
Town centre-half John Scales has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent. The defender's deal was up at the end of the season and yesterday he revealed to TWTD that he would not stay with Town after the end of this season. However, from today he is no longer with the club.
Scales has had an injury hit time since joining Town from Spurs on a free in the close season. He has played just four games for Town, two in the League and two in the Worthington Cup.
Scales told TWTD: "I'm very sad to leave Ipswich Town at such an important stage of the season. I feel that I haven't done myself justice and I haven't repaid the faith shown in me by George Burley and David Sheepshanks. I may play again in the future but it is looking unlikely at the moment. I wish Ipswich all the best for the rest of the season."
Scales has a number of business interests and also wants to take his coaching badges. See yesterday's Scales column for more on John's future plans: http://www.twtd.co.uk/scales
