Lee's Palace Move on Hold - Ipswich Town News
TWTD understands that striker Alan Lee's proposed move to Crystal Palace is on hold and the frontman will be back with the Blues for Friday training.
Lee was in talks with Palace on Thursday having undergone a medical after a fee of £600,000 plus top-ups was agreed between the sides earlier in the week.
Eagles boss Neil Warnock said on Thursday morning that his club was yet to agree personal terms with the Irishman, but this is not the current sticking point.
Although the Blues are willing to allow 30-year-old Lee to leave, they would like to sign his replacement first and so far Town have been unable to add a new striker to the squad.
The Blues have targeted innumerable frontmen over the summer, but for various reasons have been unable to complete a deal. Shola Ameobi came closest to a move last week but the Newcastle man failed to come through a medical.
Portsmouth's David Nugent is again being linked with a loan move, while last week Town had a bid for FC Köln's Slovenian international striker Milivoje Novakovic rebuffed by the Bundesliga club.
