Town Deny Stoke Bid for Walters - Ipswich Town News
Town chief executive Derek Bowden has dismissed this morning's local newspaper report claiming that Stoke had made a £3 million offer for striker Jon Walters.
Bowden told the club site: "Nothing has changed with Jon. We have not had a bid for him from Stoke or any other club. We are not looking to sell him. He is an important member of the first team squad."
Yesterday, Stoke message boards were again full of speculation that a move for Walters was imminent, rumours which are likely to have prompted this morning's latest claim that a bid had been lodged.
